The United States presidential election of 2000 was held the 8th November, 2000 to choose the new USA president. The contestants for the office were George W. Bush and Al Gore. Gore was supposed to win the election but Bender ruins it by traveling back in time to search for and kill Fry. In Florida, Bender thinks Philip Joshua Fry, Al Gore's campaign manager, is his friend Fry so he tries to kill him, but while doing that, destroys all votes for Al Gore, causing Bush to win the election.
